Perfect hummus

Sometimes the simplest recipes are the best - and with a few store cupboard ingredients and 20 seconds of help from a blender, this one is on the table and ready to go.

Yield: Serves 4


  • 400g can chickpeas, drained & rinsed
  • 3 tbsp tahini
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 clove garlic, crushed
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 3 tbsp warm water
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp greek yoghurt


  1. Whizz the tahini, 1/2 the lemon juice and the crushed garlic in a blender for one minute until thick.
  2. Add the remaining ingredients and blend to a paste.
  3. Garnish with a drizzle of olive oil, a sprinkle of paprika and some chopped coriander. Serve with chunky break and raw vegetables.
